I have used North Brookfield second chance for the past few years now since I got my puppy. I am very grateful for the services they offer at the current pricing. Were it not for them, I could possibly be facing a choice of keeping my pet or not. The cost of veterinary care these days is astronomical and in my opinion very unrealistic for the average pet owner. I am low income and if it was not for second chance I don't think I'd be able to keep my dog. I always feed good quality food at higher cost, for the health benefits, and my dog goes to Second Chance for the vaccine clinics as necessary. I also appreciate the grooming service which I am so happy they offer. Summertime I can bathe and groom outdoors, I have a big dog that is a horrible shedder so it's hard to do it inside in the winter. I do think sometimes the baths could be a little bit better as on occasion, I find the belly area and inside the ears aren't as clean as they should be after a bath. Nail trims could be cleaned up a little better too. At home I use a Dremel and if I do clip, I use the dremel to smooth the ragged edges so they don't rip or encourage a crack up the nail. But, overall I am satisfied for the affordable cost. I do suggest if you go for grooming, be extremely explicit as to what you want done and not done. I used to raise and show Persian cats, very small holistically raised program, maybe one litter per year, I had very healthy cats for that breed, but they were a lot of work nonetheless. When you've groomed for shows, or have been trained how to groom certain breeds, it is hard not to automatically do what comes natural to you when it comes to grooming an animal. So just make sure it is completely understood what you want done. Groomers are not mind readers and when it comes to their experience, they groom and trim the way they have been trained based on the breed or overall body shape and characteristics of a mixed breed.

I give Second Chance 5 stars in all categories! Their vet services and their rescue services are phenomenal. Everyone of interacted with there has been friendly, competent, and helpful.
